Postcard from the Balkans, Fractured Countries.

The Romsey Quilters were asked to make a hanging for their exhibition in the Romsey Abbey with the theme: Postcard from .... . I made this one after I saw a newspaper clipping of refugee camps in Kosovo. By fracturing the hanging in black and white and in color I indicated the fracturing of the countries involved. The quilting pattern is taken from the landmap of the Balkans.

Machine pieced. Hand quilted.
